A shiitake log growing kit is the most natural way to grow mushrooms, it enables you to literally “do it how nature does it”. Shiitake mushrooms are prized for their high quality caps. They are dark brown with a velvety texture and earthy flavour. Caps range in size from 5-10cm.

Each log growing kit contains a set of reusable tools and instructions to help you successfully select, prepare, and inoculate a 50cm hardwood log. 

Whether it’s a gift for yourself that you want to use later or for somebody else, our easy-to-use voucher system means that you can get growing whenever you are ready. The living spawn is sent separately, ensuring the freshest and best quality materials for you to grow with.
