Description

The Bog Tee is a minimal-seam running tee, built on a 2,000-year-old Iron Age pattern. Its near-seamless construction means there's almost nothing to rub or chafe,  and the few seams there are, we've externalised (turned to the outside) so they sit smooth against the skin. Cut from an ultra-fine, wood-based modal,  made using Lenzing™ Micro Modal yarn, spun from beechwood,  it's remarkably soft, breathable and temperature-regulating, finished with a printed neck label so there's no tag to itch.

There's a little Lycra in the knit, and that's a deliberate choice. It gives the tee stretch and shape recovery,  so it moves with you as you run, and springs back instead of bagging out over time. Just enough to do that, no more.

Knitted in the UK, sewn by us in Manchester.

Fancy making your own? We sell the pattern so you can give it a go!

Fit Guide

The Bog Tee has an oversized, cropped, relaxed fit — soft modal fabric with an easy drape, roomy through the chest and body.

Between Sizes?

The chest is generous on every size, so the main thing to get right is length. Size up for a longer, more oversized drop; size down for a shorter, cleaner finish.

Design story

The Bog Tee started with an old idea. The pattern goes back around 2,000 years to the Iron Age, and in its simplest form it's just two seams. We loved that. If a t-shirt could be that simple two thousand years ago, why overcomplicate it now?

We wanted it to be something you could actually make yourself, so we kept it stripped back and put the pattern up for sale. We even ran a make-your-own session with our run group, sewed them up (on one of the hottest days of the year, naturally), then sent everyone off to run in the ones they'd made and tell us how they got on. The main thing that came back was people wanted it a touch more cropped. So we shortened it, and it made the whole tee feel much more unisex.

The seams are turned to the outside and overlocked in signal red. Partly so nothing rubs, and partly because it's part of the DIY feel, and we're quietly proud of our stitching.

Fabric story

The Bog Tee is knitted from an ultra-fine, wood-based modal, made using Lenzing™ Micro Modal yarn, spun from beechwood cellulose, with 5% Lycra for stretch. Naturally sourced, breathable, beautifully soft — and knitted right here in the UK. From tree to fabric: the beechwood is pulped, dissolved, then spun into ultra-fine filaments and knitted into a soft jersey. A regenerated fibre, made from nature, engineered for comfort. It's temperature-regulating, breathable and good at managing moisture, so it stays fresher for longer than synthetics,  run after run, with four-way stretch and great shape recovery. Softer than cotton, without the plasticky feel of polyester.

Why the 5% Lycra? As a running top, it'll be washed far more than the average tee,  so it needed to hold its shape and bounce back wash after wash. That little bit of stretch gives it the recovery to do exactly that, helping it last longer and lasting longer is its own kind of sustainability. It's a small, considered amount, and even the Lycra is made with 20% recycled polymer.
